How to connect on a cruise
All our ships are equipped with Wi-Fi connection throughout, even in your cabin.
To connect to the Internet, simply select one of our data packages: you can book them before departure on MyCosta, or directly on board.
CHECK YOUR DEVICE’S SETTINGS
Once on board, remember to check your device connection settings before you log on to the Internet.
We suggest you limit the downloading of videos and large files. Automatic updates of your PC, iPad or smartphone affect the duration, speed and price of your connection. In addition, there are often active automatic update processes and programs on your device that you are not aware of. We advise you to disable them (except for antivirus programs).
All our ships have a satellite internet connection, which is therefore different from the connection you may have on the ground. While the ship is sailing, satellite internet access will be slower than the connections you may be used to.
The signal travels in a similar way, but must cover greater distances: from the ship to the satellite, then from the satellite to the ground, and vice versa. Satellite connection may not always be guaranteed. Please bear this in mind when you are on board.

Call on board
When the ship is sailing, your cell phone will connect to the 3G GSM on board and will display the "name of the ship", "901.12" or "TELENOR MARITIME / MCP" (for MCP). This allows you to continue calling or sending messages and to use your data through international roaming. The GSM switches off automatically when the ship enters a port.
When the ship enters port, you can receive and make phone calls normally, depending on your phone plan and the country you are visiting.
WATCH OUT FOR CHARGES FROM YOUR SERVICE PROVIDER
We recommend that you contact your telephone provider before departure, as the costs for international calls may be very high and are almost never included in the packages offered by telephone companies.
THE CABIN PHONE
The ship is equipped with a satellite telephone system that enables you to make direct calls from your cabin phone while you are sailing. Calls will be charged to your on-board account. Calls can be made to the ship from land, and the operator will then pass the call to the requested person.
