Dominica is a small island in the Caribbean not to be confused with the Dominican Republic. Known as "the island of nature", Dominica is largely covered with lush rain forests and is ideal for a lovely cruise.
Dominica is home to the second largest steam lake in the world: a lake that is continually boiling because of the hot springs that feed it. The capital is Roseau, a pleasant town and harbour for our cruise ships to dock and the departure point for exported fruit, spices and essential oils, not far from the luxuriant Trafalgar Falls, also known as the “Twin Waterfalls”. The Morne Trois Pitons National Park, a UNESCO World Heritage site since 1997, is located on the island. The Park’s name means “mountain of the three peaks” and contains pristine and virtually inaccessible forests. The most famous place in the Park is the “Valley of Desolation”, dotted with geysers and mud lakes, but also crystalline waterfalls and lakes.
