Puerto Cortes, where we dock on our cruise to Honduras, is situated in the Caribbean Bay of Omoa. The port area is famous for its palm trees, crystal-clear sea and white beaches, the most famous of which is La Tela.
Having arrived in Honduras aboard our cruise, we relax on Tabyana Beach, with its wonderful corals. We dock at the islands of Roatan and Coxene Hole, once a refuge of pirates and today an ideal destination for nature lovers, divers, ecological tourism and water sports. Tegucigalpa, founded in the mid-1500s by Spanish colonists as a centre for mining gold and silver, of which the territory was rich, is almost 1,000 metres above sea level and is the capital of Honduras.
