The programme

We start our excursion with a sightseeing tour of Kingstown to admire locations such as the fresh produce market, the House of Parliament and the seat of the Prime Minister.
We reach and pass by two important cathedrals: St. Mary Cathedral of the Assumption, built in the first half of the 19th century and characterised by a variety of architectural styles ranging from Romanesque and Gothic to the Moorish, and St. George’s Cathedral, the Anglican cathedral built in 1820 boasting bright colours in the internal walls and windows.
We continue our panoramic tour along the Leeward Coast until we reach the Saint Vincent botanical gardens, created in 1765 by General Melville, at the time Governor of the British Caribbean, and now boasting a wide variety of tropical and medicinal plants (including the famous breadfruit, imported here by Polynesia as an important source of nutrition for slaves in colonial times) as well as many bird species.
Before returning to the ship, we stop in the filming location of famous “Pirates of the Caribbean”saga and also get the chance to sip a refreshing drink before making our way back.
