The programme

You can't tour Genoa without first passing by the Lanterna lighthouse. The tall, imposing symbol of the city. And then, for a spectacular view, you'll come to the Spianata Castelletto belvedere, known locally as “Caste”. Here you'll have the city at your feet: the expanse of slate roofs spanning the old city center, the medieval towers and the Baroque domes. An unmissable photo opportunity. Prepare for the “likes” to flood in on Instagram.
Then there's the Genoa of Boccadasse, a fishing village of narrow streets and “creuze” or steep alleys, overlooking a tiny bay. Want some advice?
Board the bus to cross the residential district of Albaro, with its 19th century villas, and arrive in the city center. See the house of Christopher Columbus and the Ducal Palace, residence of the Doge for many centuries. You came as a “foresto” (stranger) and you'll reboard the ship…Genoese!
