Higashi-hennazaki Cape, located at the southeasternmost of Miyako island, is a cape stuck out into the cobelt blue sea. This cape is approximately 2km long, 160km of width at a maximum, and 20m of height lying between Pacific Ocean and East China Sea. This spot is selected one of the 100 urban parks in Japan. The Ueno German Culture Village found its origin in the Meiji Era (1868-1912), when a shipwreck occurred on the Miyako coastline. Locals rescued the German crew, and a theme replica was built to commemorate this event. With a replica of the German Marksburg Castle, this theme park intermixes German culture with the beauty of Miyako Island to create an Okinawan German fairy tale. The Shigira Lift Ocean Sky is newly opened April 2016. It is the only pair lift in Okinawa Prefecture. Full length 283 meter long cable car provide breathtaking landscape of Miyakojima Island. Before going back to the ship, you will have time for shopping at local shopping center. During this tour, you can also enjoy Japanese food.

The programme

Irabu Ohashi bridge: “Irabu Ohashi Bridge” finally Opened in 2016.The total length of the bridge is 3,540 meters, and it is the longest tall-free bridge in Japan. Toori-ike Pond: you will stop at ‘Toori-Ike Pond’, a unique and irresistible natural pool designated as a national natural treasure.

Sawada no Hama Beach: after crossing the bridge, you will pass Sawada no Hama. It is a popular spot on Irabu Island, with many rocks scattered on the beach creating a unique landscape. Yukishio Museum: is the saltworks factory that is famously known for the “snow salt” (salt in powder form). There is also a shop selling “snow salt” and products made using “snow salt.” The shop offers a number of unique products that can only be purchased here.
