The programme

Depart the quayside and enjoy a scenic drive along the Atlantic coast, passing through Sea Point, Bantry Bay, Clifton and Camps Bay. Continue along the coastal road, past the upmarket suburb of Llandudno and on towards the charming fishing village of Hout Bay.

We depart on a 35 minute boat ride to Duiker Island. Beneath the Sentinel Mountain you can view the Cape Fur Seals in their natural environment.

Dive into the crisp, cool Atlantic Ocean and view hundreds if not thousands of Cape Fur Seals frolicking around Duiker Island.

Cape Fur seals occur naturally on islands around the southern African coast and are found nowhere else in the world. Duiker Island in Hout Bay is home to 5000-10000 seals and lies within the Karbonkelberg marine protected area, part of Table Mountain National Park. These seals are not fed or trained, they behave naturally and interact with visitors on their own terms. This is a wildlife adventure that brings you nose-to-nose with playful and inquisitive wild animals in their natural habitat, and affords you the privilege of viewing them on their own terms.

After your adventure with the seals, change your clothes and enjoy some hot beverages. After your adventure return to the quayside in Cape Town.

The activity might be physically strenuous to some guests, therefore a reasonable level of fitness might be required
Trips dependent on weather and ocean conditions
Snorkelling site is 1 – 5 m in depth
No experience needed for snorkelers but must be competent swimmers
Bring along swimsuit, towel, sunscreen and waterproof camera.
Guests will be required to sign indemnity forms before taking part in this excursion
