The programme

A half-day excursion, where you are going to know a lot of the history Christopher Columbus left behind him on the island as well as enjoying the variation of the island´s beautiful landscapes. We’ll take the bus from the port to the center of San Sebastián, the capital of La Gomera and from here, we are to visit by foot the most interesting buildings “in the footstep” of Christopher Columbus. We start at La Casa del Colón - The house of Columbus, where he spent his time before leaving Europe “heading for India” discovering America. We continue to the oldest church at the island - la Iglesia de la Asunción where Columbus and his crew attended mass before sailing, after that it’s time to visit El Pozo de Aguada - where Columbus collected water for his long journey and our last stop is at the Torre del Conde - The Count’s Tower which was built to protect the citizens when they were attacked from seaside. We will enjoy a coffee break at Hotel Torre del Conde before leaving by the south road in direction to La Degollada de Peraza viewpoint where wonderful views will surround us. From here we will continue to the famous Roques de Agando offering panoramic views of the south part of La Gomera. Before returning to San Sebastián we will also have a short stop at the Mirador El Rejo, with views over the Hermigua Valley and the neighbor island, Tenerife, with its impressive Mount Teide.
