The programme

This tour will initiate you to the legends and folklore of historic Raiatea (the Sacred Island) with a voyage into Polynesia’s past.
You’ll pass through the town of Uturoa, around the Bay of Faaroa and through the island's crater. Visit the Taputapuatea Marae -- Raiatea’s most famous landmark. The marae is an open-air temple comprised of seven sacred sites built of stone and coral, and dedicated to Oro -- the bloodthirsty god of war who demanded human sacrifices.
