The programme

Beneath Rome, there is a fascinating secret world which only rises to the surface from time to time: it is the groundwater flowing through aqueducts built with great skill and expertise thousands of years ago. When the water comes to the surface, it means there's something really worth seeing, and usually a story or legend that's hard to forget. From the Barcaccia fountain in Piazza di Spagna to the 9-meter hole on the roof of the Pantheon from which it is said no rain comes inside and on to the fountain in Piazza Navona, which stoked the rivalry between Bernini and Borromini, and St. Peter's Square, where the saying "give water to the ropes" originated. Traversing the Ponte Sant'Angelo and the river Tiber, this land experience will lead you on a voyage of discovery of a side of Rome unknown to most, but not to our local guide. And as an exceptional finale, stop in front of the most famous fountain of them all: the Trevi.
