Bellevue Forest Reserve

The programme

Depart the quayside and transfer to Bellevue Forest Reserve situated on the 2500-hectare private game reserve in the Greater Addo region. Be part of an exhilarating African experience for a unique close adventure walk with the reserve’s tallest wildlife members – the Giraffe.
Upon arrival at Bellevue Forest Reserve, enjoy a welcome drink before you embark on a mini game drive on the reserve to locate the Tall Five. You will get the opportunity to observe the fauna and flora along the way, the reserve has 3 of the Big 5 (Buffalo, Lion and Leopard). Once the Tall Five is located, embark on foot to experience the Giraffe from up close and personal. Closest you will get to the giraffe is about 25 meters and no touching is allowed. Your trails guide will point out interesting facts about the giraffes.
After your walking safari, continue your game drive to locate the Cape Buffalo. The Cape Buffalo is one of the Big 5 and may reach up to 6.8 to 11 feet in length and the largest of the sub specie found in South and East Africa. Facilitated by a Game Ranger you can view from up close as Buffalos are fed and monitored daily.
Return to the lodge, enjoy snacks with some sparkling wine and juice, before going back to the ship.

Good to know

This tour is not suitable for guests in wheelchairs and those with walking difficulties
Comfortable clothing, binoculars and a sun hat are strongly recommended
The roads in the game reserve are gravel. There are also inclines and certain parts of the game-drive can be bumpy. Not recommended for pax with back & neck problems
Guests are not permitted to use cellular phones during the game drives. They are also not permitted to speak loudly or stand up on the game drive vehicles, as this will disturb the animals
Smoking is not permitted during the game-drives
Wildlife sightings cannot be guaranteed
