The programme

The Sundays River Ferry cruiser boat operates from the peaceful village of Cannonville located on the banks of the lower reaches of the Sundays River and the estuary, a mere 35 minute drive from the Port Elizabeth Airport. Cannonville village is part of the Colchester area, the gateway to the Sunshine Coast and the Addo Elephant National Park.
Experience the wonder of a cruise down to the Sundays River mouth to enjoy the breathtaking views of the world renowned and UNESCO World Heritage site Alexandria Coastal Dune Field, one of the largest of its kind in the world, most impressive and least degraded dunefield in South Africa and arguably one of the most spectacular in the world. It comprises an area of approximately 14 000 ha of unvegetated and 1 800 dunes. It stretched for 50 km from Sundays River Mouth to beyond Woody Cape and is 22 km wide on average. It ranges from 140 m high dunes right down to the beach and is comprised of bare and vegetated dunes, bush pockets and dune slacks. Weather permitting you will have an opportunity to walk on this amazing dune field.
The Sundays River Ferry cruiser is operational on the Sundays River which flows through and borders on the new Southern section of the Addo Elephant National Park. This estuary as well as the surrounding area is malaria free and a mere 4/5 kilometers from the new Southern Gate.
