Sometimes, a single perspective is just not enough – best to get a second one: Jump on the boat and enjoy the view over Kolovare, the city beach that actually has nothing urban about it, due to its green surroundings.
Then take some photographs of the palaces in the historic center and of the ancient walls: Those you see from the sea are Venetian, from the 16th century, but there are also some stretches of Roman and medieval origins.
Get back on land and you'll admire them from up close: Together with your guide, you will also explore squares and Byzantine and Romanesque churches: The Roman Forum is next to the round-shaped Church of St. Donatus.
At the archeological museum, you'll find 3,000 years of history all under the same roof: From prehistoric times to today.
However, Zadar's true contemporary essence can't be found within four walls, but under the blue sky: The “Greeting to the sun” on the seafront is an installation featuring light effects powered by 300 solar panels. The “Sea organ”, on the other hand, communicates via sound, thanks to its 35 pipes played by the waves of the Adriatic sea.
