The programme

A motorized boat will take you to the port of Athinios, where you board a coach and head for the north end of the island and the charming village of Oia. Along the way, you are treated to the stirring scenery of the volcanic caldera, the wide crater that is, today, mostly covered by the sea and surrounded by the high reefs of Santorini.
Oia or Ia (pronounced ['Eee-ah']) is an idyllic settlement located in the northwestern part of Santorini and the poster child of Greece. It is one of the most photographed communities not only in Greece but in the world.
The little white buildings which tier the hillside, interspersed by hues of cobalt blue, earthy red, oyster pink and bright okra. The sun-bathed verandahs and blue-domed churches are also worthy of observation. The smooth paths snake around the corners and are stopped by either a church or an iconic building. It has been a source of inspiration for not only authors but artists and poets alike.
The main street is named Nikolaou Nomikou. This promenade stretches along the whole village, and delivers beautiful views of the entire caldera. The most known and representative part is lined with 19th-century marble. It stretches from the church of St. George, through the main square with the church of Panagia Platsani, up to the former market house (now it houses the Museum of Ancient and Byzantine Musical Instruments). In this part of the promenade, you will find many boutiques of luxury clothing brands, jewelers, hotels, SPAs, art galleries and souvenir shops. It is also by far the most crowded part of the promenade. The rest of the promenade, behind the Museum of Ancient and Byzantine Musical Instruments, leads to the ruins of the Castle of Oia and stairs to the Bay of Amoudi.
You will have about 2.5 hours to enjoy before you move on to Fira, Santorini's capital, for more free time to spend as you please.
Fira (pronounced [fi'ra]) derives its name from an alternative pronunciation of 'Thíra', the ancient name of the island itself.
As the capital, is also considered the island's main cultural center, housing various notable cultural institutions, such as the Archaeological Museum, the Museum of Prehistoric Thera, the Folklore Museum, the cultural institute of Megaron Gyzi and the Bellonio Cultural Center.
Fira town is also considered one of the best places to go shopping on Santorini. Boutique shops line the streets and mix elegantly with the restaurants, bars, and viewpoints. The designer clothing and jewelry are present but you can also find locally made goods and traditional Greek souvenirs.
