An experience of three days and two nights in the desert of Namibia, where, like an explorer from days gone by, you can immerse yourself in both adventure and luxury at a 20s-style safari camp, before embracing all the contrasts of the desert as you explore it at dawn in a 4x4. After so much adventure, relax in your spacious tent, beside the infinity pool, or at the open-air cinema under the immense starry African sky.

The programme

Day 1 – At Sonop Lodge: like early-20th century explorers * Sonop Lodge is a safari camp on a granite plateau in the heart of the Namibian desert, spanning more than 5,000 hectares of wild nature inhabited by antelope and jackals. Here, you'll be welcomed to the timeless world of the safari camps of the past. * In the afternoon, venture into the magic of the desert aboard an open-top 4x4 with all the comforts you could desire, and when night falls, the adventure continues at the open-air cinema or on a trip to the Milky Way as you admire one of the darkest skies on the planet: observe it along or with your guide and the powerful camp telescope.

Days 2 and 3 – Following the dawn in the desert * The desert awakes at dawn, with the warmth of the first rays of sunshine: witness this awakening with your guide, and when the 4x4 stops, make your way to the top of the dunes on foot. Stretched out before you, you'll see an endless expanse of sand and a view that is all reds and yellows: all you need now is a refreshing drink to make this occasion even more memorable...and here it is! * In the afternoon and evening, enjoy the facilities at Sonop Lodge, or choose from one of the many extra activities: a private 4x4 tour to get to know the desert at your own pace, a helicopter ride or hot air balloon flight above the red dunes, or a relaxing yoga class. And when the sun sets, enjoy a film in the desert or take part in the astronomical observations, ahead of your flight to Cape Town the following day.

To best enjoy this experience, remember to bring along a hat, sunglasses, sun lotion, a light windproof jacket, camera and binoculars.
Wear appropriate sports shoes and clothing for the trail.
After the welcome at the camp, make sure you book your activities for the coming days at reception.
Bring your passport: you'll need it to take part in this experience.
