In a nutshell

Depart the quayside and travel to the southernmost tip of Algoa Bay, Cape Recife, Cabo de Arrecife, the Cape of Reefs as it was named by the early Portuguese explorers.

Stop at SANCCOB and transfer unto your Safari Vehicles. Continue to Cape Recife itself with its mobile sand dunes and historic, operational lighthouse, which was completed in 1851, the 3rd oldest fully operational Light house in South Africa today. Your visit to the Cape Recife Nature Reserve includes a guided Safari of the Marine Reserve including historical sites, marine fauna, flora and birdlife sightings.

You might spot whales and dolphins from selected vantage points on the reserve. Enjoy a brief beach walk from Patti Beach to Cape Recife Lighthouse.

After a short walk to enter the lighthouse, you will be introduced to the old machinery that provided the mechanical power to operate this lonely outpost. There is an option of climbing up the circular 101 stairs to the top.

Enjoy sundowners on the beach or at the lighthouse (weather dependant) including finger snacks and local drinks.

Board your Safari vehicles where you will be transferred back to meet your coach for your transfer to the quayside.
