Depart for Schotia Private Game Reserve, situated 60 km from Port Elizabeth. The Eastern Cape is rich in ethnic culture and diversity and offers the traveler a unique wildlife experience in a malaria free environment.

Schotia Private Game Reserve has been owned and operated by the same family since 1833. It is the oldest private game viewing reserve in the Cape Province and the first to have lions hunt for themselves.

Upon arrival at Schotia, enjoy a welcome drink with comfort stop. Transfer over onto 4x4 vehicles. Depart on an afternoon game drive in open vehicles, traversing the reserve, where the wildlife roams in profusion and diversity.

Stop for refreshments, enjoy coffee & tea with cake. Continue with your game viewing, look out for nocturnal creatures as you drive into the sunset.

Schotia Private Game Reserve is home to nearly 2000 animals and over 40 species. You are likely to encounter numerous antelope species, lion, hippo, rhino, giraffe, elephant, zebra, ostrich and many monkeys. This is your chance to be privileged enough to see the world-famous African animals close up in their own habitat. The focus of the game drives is not only the large, majestic beasts but also the humble smaller mammals, birds and insects which will leave you in awe.

Upon return from your game drive, warm up around a fire where you wil enjoy dinner.

After dinner return to the quayside in Port Elizabeth.

Good to know

This tour is not suitable for guests in wheelchairs and those with walking difficulties, as they will not be able to climb onto the 4x4 open vehicles
Comfortable clothing, binoculars and a sun hat are strongly recommended
The roads in the game reserve are gravel. There are also inclines and certain parts of the game-drive can be bumpy. Not recommended for guests with back & neck problems
For safety reasons, no children under the age of 6 years allowed on the open vehicle
Guests are not permitted to use cellular phones during the game drives. They are also not permitted to speak loudly or stand up on the game drive vehicles, as this will disturb the animals
Smoking is not permitted during the game-drives
Wildlife sightings cannot be guaranteed
