The programme

We will leave the port on a comfortable coach and head to the Larco Herrera Museum, founded in 1926 and housed in an elegant building from the Colonial Period in the 18th century. It is a private museum of pre-Columbian art situated in the Pueblo Libre district of Lima and it is famous for housing several permanent exhibitions of gold and silver artefacts from Peru’s ancient civilisations such as the Moche, the Chavín, the Huari and the Inca. Over 3,000 years of pre-Columbian history have been preserved in this museum, which exhibits around 45,000 pieces discovered by Peruvian archaeologist Rafael Larco Hoyle, and which is also famous for its vast and unusual collection of erotic pottery.
The second stop on our tour takes us to Lima’s lively Indian Market, situated in the picturesque Miraflores district.
We will stop here for about 1 hour and 30 minutes to enjoy some shopping and buy some souvenirs: fabrics, ceramics, jewellery in gold and silver filigree, traditional clothes and colourful alpaca rugs will entice us thanks to the extraordinary creativity of the Peruvian artists and artisans that sell everything in this market that is one of the biggest in the capital.
After visiting the Indian Market, we will get back on our coach to make our way back to the port.
