The programme

From the comfort of your coach, you will be taken to 2 different locations on the island.
The village of Haria has a rather bucolic setting, in a palm-filled valley dotted with brightly colored patches of bougainvillea and poinsettia plants. In the 17th and 18th centuries, locals traditionally planted a palm tree to celebrate a birth (two for a boy, one for a girl!). Later, this North African-style oasis became a popular spa for wealthy Canaries.
Jardín de Cactus was the last intervention by César Manrique carried out in Lanzarote.
The Lanzarote artist could see beyond just how run-down the ancient rofera was. The Roferas were the quarries from which raids are taken to create a very special home for cacti flowers from all over the world.
Surrounded by the largest cactus plantation on the island, dedicated to cochineal crops, a product of great financial importance in Lanzarote in the 19th century. Jardín de Cactus has around 4,500 specimens of 450 different species, from 13 different cactus families from five continents. The green hue of the plants stands out against the blue of the sky and the dark volcano creating a harmonious explosion of colors that impresses visitors. The only sounds that break the peace and quiet that reign are the singing of birds and the drunkenness of insects, enjoying one's own oasis.
High monoliths of volcanic ash, which preserve the memory of past years, challenging plants from America, Africa and Oceania. At the top, on a small hill, windmills can be seen on the horizon, still standing, where Canarian corn flour dating back to the 19th century was ground.
