The programme

Sail for 6 km along the Corinth Canal to experience the thrill of passing through a rocky gorge just 23 meters wide. between vertical walls that are up to 90 meters high.
Like a veritable sea dog, sail between two seas from Isthmia through the man * made shortcut that connects the Saronic Gulf, in the Aegean Sea, to the Gulf of Corinth, in the Ionian Sea**.
Inaugurated in 1893, the canal these days is used by around 11,000 boats every year, but its construction was far from plain sailing.
The first person to come up with the idea was Periander of Corinth, one of the Seven Sages of Antiquity, in the 6th century BC, but the Oracle of Delphi advised him not to cast asunder what Zeus had joined together. Best to leave well alone.
After several attempts, including one by the Emperor Nero in 67 AD, and the Venetians in 1700, work only properly began in 1881.
