The first geographer in history, Strabo, said that Kos was the most beautiful coastal city of the ancient world: jump aboard the bus and prepare to prove him right.
Your first stop is Asclepion, a temple dedicated to the Greek god of healing: the teachings of Hippocrates, the father of modern medicine, were followed here.
With your guide, you'll wander among the ruins with sea views and discover the beauty of the place that was used to heal the mind, at one with the body.
Then you'll head to the historic center and the Roman theater with its Gymnasium and Nymphaeum: It is said that the latter was actually a wash-house, but it was so beautiful that early archaeologists mistook it for a temple dedicated to the water nymphs. Let loose with your camera among the Greek and Roman ruins, and snap away at the beautiful views, lime staircases and colorful houses too.
Wander through the little streets to the tree of Hippocrates, an ancient plane tree: legend has it that this is where the great doctor lectured his followers. And in your spare time, you can imagine what life was like back then, or take a walk down to the harbor.
Whatever you choose, there's no doubt about it: Strabo was right!
