The port of Brest is located in Northern France, on the Atlantic coast, and is a stop on our Costa Cruise to Northern Europe.

Founded by the Romans, Brest is the site of the French military naval base and many of its historic remains evoke battles and wars. World War II heavily marked this city, which underwent a radical rebuilding process that lasted until 1961. The Pont of Recouvrance was built in 1954. At 64 metres long, it is the second largest lift bridge in Europe and a symbol of the city. One of the most important attractions of Brest is the Oceanopolis, one of the biggest aquariums in Europe, with thousands of different specimens. You should also visit the Garden of the Explorers (Jardins des Explorateurs), where plant species from all over the world taken here by explorers and botanists who departed from Brest are preserved.
